Prince Alexis P. Scherbatow Scholarship

Each year, the Russian Nobility Association awards scholarships to qualified college students and high school graduates entering college. The scholarship fund is supported through the RNA Lecture Series, but primarily through individual contributions by friends of the RNA and by members of the community.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on a combination of academic record, perceived potential to further RNA ideals and goals, character, and financial need.  Applicants send in their application in early spring, thus by the summer, if a scholarship is granted, they are notified of the award and can plan their subsequent college year accordingly.  The applicant need not be a member of the RNA, but must be attending an accredited college or university  as an undergraduate student.

We are pleased to be able to assist these young people with part of the cost of their education and are most grateful to those whose donations have made this possible.

The Prince Alexis Scherbatow Scholarship Fund was established after his death in 2002 to celebrate his life and achievements. Prince A.P. Scherbatow had served for thirty-one years as President of the Russian Nobility Association in America. He taught history and political science, earned a PhD from Columbia University, and worked for The Tolstoy Foundation, aiding Russian immigrants. Prince Alexis Pavlovich Scherbatow received many honors and tributes from Russian, European and American organizations for his contributions to historical studies.
